Priest in charge

The Rev. Mathew P. Idicula has been named Priest in Charge at the Church of St. Columba in Hanover Park, Illinois. A very active member in the Asia Ministry of the Diocese of Chicago, he served as priest associate at St. Mark Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn.

Rev. Idicula was a priest at the Church of South India, a partner church of Episcopal/Anglican church in the U.S., before joining the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago. Still a popular leader of the Church of South India in North America, he was one of its original leaders and helped organize new congregations in various parts of the United States. He also served on its council for many years in different leadership positions .

At present he is a student at the Lutheran School of Theology, studying for a Doctor of Ministry in Mission and Leadership, and is also a freelance writer who has published many articles. Rev. Idicula and his wife, Elizabeth, a medical professional, have three adult children, Mathew Jr., Miriam and Kurian.
