Our Vicar

The Rev. Dr. Mathew P. Idicula is the current vicar at the Church of St. Columba in Hanover Park, Illinois. A very active member in the Asia Ministry of the Diocese of Chicago, he was a priest associate at St. Mark Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Rev. Idicula was ordained as a priest at the Church of South India, a partner church of Episcopal/Anglican church in North America, before joining the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago. Fr. Idicula has rendered his service to the Anglican Church in India and in United States of America as both a lay leader and an ordained priest in his entire life time. Still a popular leader of the Church of South India in North America, he was one of its original leaders helped organized new congregations in various parts of North America. He also served on the National Council of the Church of South India Congregaions in North America for many years in different leadership positions.
Rev. Dr. Mathew P. Idicula completed his theological education from Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago with a Doctoral Degree in Mission and leadership. At present he is a fellow at the Lutheran School of Theology for continuing education. Rev. Mathew P. Idicula (Roy Chicago) is also an author and a freelance writer who has published many articles. Fr. Idicula and his wife, Elizabeth, a medical doctor, have three adult children, Mathew Jr., Miriam and Kurian.
